What happens to GCO & Template?

What happens to GCO & Template?

If upgrading to the latest version from the most recent version, will this interfere with the add-ons such as Google Checkout or Paymate?

Also, the last time I did an upgrade it wiped out my template. Is this a possibility again?

As long as you follow the upgrade instruction completely you shouldn't have problem with your template or Google Checkout. Our site is heavily modified and both our template and GCO work just fine after upgrade. Just make sure you thoroughly compare files.

Another question....

I have found a new template that I would like to use on my site.
Should I install the new template after upgrading? This would seem the best procedure but I am really a newbie with Zen Cart so I would like more experienced advise.
