10002 Security error - Security header is not valid

I'm using version 1.3.8 with PayPal Pro.

Yesterday I started getting this error:

10002 Security error - Security header is
not valid

Can anyone give me an idea of what this means and how I can fix it?

Thank you!

It means you didn't set up your API credentials.

That's what PayPal said, too, but when we went in to check the API setting it was enabled and correct.

Everything had been working fine and payments going through for over a year and now all of a sudden this error.

What security patches have you applied to your 1.3.8 site?

Well ... then you should start there, since it's possible that the "sudden" change might be a result of hacker activitiy. It's hard to say for sure, but until you do a thorough inspection (and any corresponding cleanup), you won't know with certainty.

Either patch your 1.3.8 site, or upgrade to 1.3.9 which includes all the 1.3.8 updates.

EITHER WAY, YOU STILL NEED TO inspect your site THOROUGHLY: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Recovering_From_Hacks
