UPS module not calculating shipping estimate

I have enabled the UPS shipping module and shipping is not being estimated per product weight. My product weighs 7lbs, and all I am getting is what you see below for all UPS options. I have all the other shipping options disabled in admin. Using version 1.3.8a. I don't have any of the zones setup, and am just expecting it to calculate an estimated shipping cost based on my zipcode and weight. I am logged in as a registered user in the cart. Any ideas?

Do you have the Product marked as Virtual?

Do you have the Product marked as Always Free Shipping?

no, it is not virtual and it is not setup for free shipping. It is almost like the functionality is not working.. isn't is actually supposed to calculate via an API to UPS?

From what I am seeing your Product is not showing that it has 7 lbs in the products_weight field or something is negating its weight ...

Is this the only Product that this is happening with or are other products doing this as well?

What version Zen Cart are you using?

And is this the standard UPS shipping module that comes with Zen Cart?

It's happening on all products. I am using 1.3.8a - a pretty vanilla version and the standard UPS module with zencart. I have tried removing and re-adding several times the UPS module. I have also tried just leaving a couple of the UPS ship options like ground and one or two others rather than keeping all the options. here is what it says for this product: Total Items: 1 Weight: 20lbs Amount: $211.60. So I know a shipping weight is attached to this product I am trying. Here is the estimated cost table:

Where is it getting the "(0 x 0.10lbs)"? That is probably part of the issue.

What are your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ... as I can make that happen with incorrect settings such as Maximum Weight 0 ...

And if you were to temporarily turn on Zone Rate zones ... what does it show on weight in the Shipping Estimator?

max weight says "any". FYI - I tried the perunit shipping module and it isn't calculating the weights either, only the $2 handling fee I put in to test. The shipping weights aren't being calculated for some reason and I can't find it..

That is the problem ...

The word "any" or any other word has the numerical value of 0 ... so you are saying that the maximum weight you will ship is 0 ... meaning nothing ... :eek:

Set the value back to the default value of: 50

This will allow the order to be processed as you currently are getting the default minimum value for the weight to obtain a quote ...

Also, check your Tare settings and if you are not using your Tare settings, make sure that both are set to: 0:0

OK.. I finially tried changing the 'any' to 500 and it started working! Not sure how it got to any in the 1st place. Thanks so much!

That would be a bad idea ...

The Maximum Weight is to determine the largest box weight before breaking the weight into multiple boxes of equal size ...

The Maximum Weight cannot exceed what the shipping service such as UPS will ship or you will not get a quote ...

The default is 50 ...

You might try the results of different values for the Maximum Weight as setting to 50 or 75 or 100 etc. will result in different shipping costs ...
