Move from WAMP to server

Hi There,

I have a live working zencart website.

I wanted to update the website so I installed WAMP added a copy of the current website and database then edited the website. I Modified CSS and added some MODS. etc.

So now I'm ready to move my newly updated website to the live server and overwrite existing files.

Can I upload only the includes folder and run any sql patched from MODS I Installed?

Or do I need to follow from step 4:

https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=100

Anythign else I should know?

I didn't want to upload the WAMP database as due ot new orders and customers on the LIVE server being added to database since I downloaded the file last to WAMP.

Re: Move from WAMP to server

The more relevant FAQ is this one: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=99 ... although they're very similar because the process is very similar.

As to skipping the database part, yes, you can skip it. You just have to re-do anything database-related that you've done on your test site, redoing it on your live site.

Re: Move from WAMP to server

Cheers thanks.

Mostly sorted now.

Just the teething issues.
