Mark old product as new?

Hello, I am running the latest version... no addons... anyway that shouldn't matter for this.

Usually in my store when an item goes out of stock I have it set to "hide" the item so it won't be displayed, but I keep the item in the admin panel incase I get it back in stock.

What I want to be able to do is make these items show up in the "new products" section when I get them back in stock, without having to delete and recreate the item.

This will make it a lot easier for people to quickly see the items that are back in stock with the items that are actually new.

I don't really care about the wording 'new' versus 'back in stock', I just want the items to be clear and on the main page on on the new products link.

Is this possible? and if so how do I do it.

thanks !! :bigups:

Re: Mark old product as new?

In v1.3.x you'll need to go into the database and do a raw direct edit to that product record's date_created field.

In v2.0 (under development) you'll be able to set a "treat as new" date from the admin product-edit page.
