Can't get to checkout

I'm new to this whole thing, so be nice. :yes:

I purchased a running online store. It's hosted at godaddy, and am running 1.3.8a.

I can manage to get things in the cart and and then it asks me to log in. I have a customer account that is listed as 'approved' in the customer list. I enter the email address and password, but I can never get to the checkout page. I keep getting sent back to the shopping cart.

You'd think that I'm not successfully logging in, but the number of logins on the customer control page successfully increments each time.

Only thing that has changed besides ownership is the fact that I am no longer have an Authorize.net verified merchant. Seems they don't like the product I sell.

And if this isn't the right section, please let me know and I'll post it where it belongs asap.

Do you have something in the cart when you login?

Do you have "more" things in the cart after you login such as what you originally had before you logged in ... plus other things from a previous login?

I placed 3 items in the cart. They are there when try to log in. There are still 3 items in the cart afterwards. I can add and remove items fine.

You might get the Debug Tool from the Free Software Add Ons if you have not upgraded to Zen Cart v1.3.9b ...

See if it is showing any errors ...

If you are using SEO/rewrites, try turning those off ...

Try switching to the Classic Template to help rule out something in your template causing this issue ...

and now I can't even log in.

I put in the correct user id/password for the adminsitrator, and it just pops back to to the login screen - very similar to the checkout page. Tried a wrong password and it's telling me that I got the password wrong.

Argh!

rebooted my machine and now I can.

SEO has been turned off.

I hesitate to revert to the Classic Template as I see no way to switch it back. Or am I missing something there? (like I said, I'm new at this)

Do I take the shopping cart page out of the SEO list?

Sounds like you have issues with your SEO/rewrites ... you might look into the support threads for this ...
