Create a block to hold a list of products?

Hello,

Is there a way that I can create one (or multiple) block containers that hold a list of products? Maybe something similar to the Featured Products block on the main page.

The reason is that: I want to hand select a few categories, and for each category, I want to list a few (hand-selected) products on the main page.

One way I can think of is to add those products to the "Featured Products" list. But any other way to do so? (for example, I may want multiple "blocks" instead of one Featured Products block.

You could clone the Featured Products if you need to actually use Featured Products ...

Otherwise, it works the way it sounds like you are wanting it to work so that selected Products are displayed based on the navigation ...

Can you tell me how can I clone the Featured Products? I have some basic php knowledge, but have very little knowledge on zen cart.

You can do a search in the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... in the bottom input box for:
featured

and as a guide, do a search for:
special

as these are more or less clones of one another ...

This will help you see where the files are used and the databases ...

Keep in mind that the Featured Products and Specials have:
sideboxes
centerboxes
Listing pages

and you are only interested in the centerboxes ...
