Customer can't get past step 1 checkout

Hello all.

Recently upgraded to 1.3.9a from an old install of 1.3.7. After that, I did the file upgrade method to 1.3.9b. Using same db information.

Customers can't get past step 1 of checkout. I only have the freeshipper module enabled.

Any help is VERY appreciated.

I will add that the EXACT configuration of modules I have now worked fine in the previous version.

Have you tried removing and re-installing the shipping module?

Yes, I have done that multiple times.

Anyone have any other suggestions? This is really frustrating, can't seem to figure out what is going on. This worked fine in 1.3.7.

Almost certainly something missed during the upgrading/merging.

Version: 1.3.9b

Upgrades: Store was upgraded May 3rd, 2010. Progression was 1.3.7 -> 1.3.9a -> 1.3.9b

Addons: none

Modules: Authorize.net, freeshipper

Differences: Logos, pictures. Entirely cosmetic.

Hosting issues: Host has been great thus far, no issues there. All this started after the upgrade.

I went through the obscure issues. The only differences appear to be changes in displayed text. I couldn't really find any code changes related to shipping.

Used WinMerge to compare my site with a full 1.3.9b fileset.

Are you hosted on Windows? or Linux?
What version of PHP?
What version of MySQL?
Does the problem continue to happen if you change your shipping and turn on Per Item temporarily?
Does the problem continue if you add Money Order as a payment choice?
What happens if you turn off SSL temporarily? (ie: set ENABLE_SSL to 'false" instead of 'true' in your /includes/configure.php file)
What browsers have you tested it in?
Does it happen on multiple computers, or just yours?

I am hosted on Linux.

PHP: 5.2.9

MySQL: 5.0.81-community-log

Broswers: FireFox 3.6.1, Explorer 8 and 7.

Multiple PC's.

I will test your suggestions and will post the results for the remaining questions.

Have tried your suggestions, results were as follows:

If I enabled per-item shipping and disabled freeshipper, I got: "Sorry we are not shipping to your region at this time". Still did not proceed past step 1.

If I enabled money order, I was still stuck at step 1.

If I disabled SSL, I was still stuck at step 1.

Okay ... What's the address in the customer account you're using? (State+Country)
What zone definitions do you have created in your admin?
What's your Country of Origin and Shipping Zip Code set to in Admin->Configuration->Shipping/Packaging?
Do you get the same problem if you Remove per-item and Install Table Rate?

Customer is located in Oklahoma, USA.

Zone Definitions are: Florida: Florida local sales tax zone

US: US Free Shipping. The US one includes all territories/states.

I should note that no payment module or shipping module has a zone defined. This worked without issue in previous version (1.3.7)

My origin is US, zip: 73117.

If I enable table rate: I am greeted with "Sorry we are not shipping to your region at this time"

Please do this:

Go to Admin->Tools->Developers Toolkit.
Paste this into the first search field: MODULE_SHIPPING_INSTALLED
and press Enter.
In the list that shows, what's the Value: it shows you?

I have the cart at the configuration I did in 1.3.7. and when I contacted you with the problem.

The value returned is: freeshipper.php

Do you want this value with the various configurations you provided me?

In your site that's not working, can you extract the following information and PM me with a link where I can download the zip?

Use phpMyAdmin, and export the following tables' data:

• configuration
• configuration_group
• countries
• geo_zones
• tax_class
• tax_rates
• zones
• zones_to_geo_zones

Then zip the exported data, upload the zip to a folder on your server, and PM me with the URL to that file.

And, have you tried switching your template to classic temporarily and test to rule out the template?
And, enable the Per Item shipping module for the test.

Hello, got the same issue.

I upgraded from ZC 1.3.8 to 1.3.9a.

I checked the files and actually found that the form submit target is the same page.

File: includes/templates/your_template/templates/tpl_checkout_default_shipping.php

<form method="post" action="{cut address}/zencart/index.php?main_page=checkout_shipping" name="checkout_address">

When I changed the target of the form to
main_page=checkout_payment

all was carried properly. Tho i'm not sure if I missed any validation skipping it like that.

edit: Default template doesn't help it.

However, I don't seem to have a file named "tpl_checkout_default_shipping.php"...

All I have is:

"tpl_checkout_shipping_address_default.php"

and

"tpl_checkout_shipping_default1.php"

Both these files are identical to the old version of the store(1.3.7), compared using WinMerge.

Vall's issue will be a result of an addon that changes the whole checkout process.
