Canada Post lettermail not working suddenly

I've just upgraded to version 1.3.9b and lettermail has disappeared as an option. The module is installed, and turned to 'true'. the tare things in shipping/packaging are set to 0. I've turned the shipping estimator right off to avoid confusion. The parcel stuff is working so its definitely communicating with Canada Post. And my Lettermail_1 at Canada Post is still set up the way it was under the old version of Zencart..... any ideas what I've missed?

I've been playing with this and can get lettermail to appear if I limit the Lettermail "box" height to 1.3 cm. VERY weird...... how do I correct this?

Best to ask Canada Post ... but I would think it normal to treat something thicker than 1.3cm as a box and not as a letter.

Since upgrading to 1.3.9 the lettermail portion of Canada Post is not functioning

It has been working fine for two years and since the upgrade has stopped.

I have checked dimensions, packages and re-installed the latest version of the module to no avail.

Any help appreciated.

The option is missing completely from the list of available options.

I am actually fighting two issues this morning as the payal orders have stopped showing up on the system also, the payments go through but no information on the admin screen - I am reading up on this issue now - I don't know if there is any relation between the two -other than the upgrade from 1.3.7 to 1.3.9

Still no luck with the lettermail working on 1.3.9. - I have downloaded the latest update and installed it, but alas it still only allow parcel and small packet rates. I have checked the Lettermail sizes and dimensions and nothing on the CP system has changed.

Was able to get the paypal working by switching to 'express checkout'.

And what about the debug logs as per the link I posted?

respectfully - I read through that page/link several times, and fail to see how that will help or is relevant.

I do not have a blank page or an error message, this option has gone missing since the upgrade to 1.3.9

I have so far:

re-installed the add-on
Checked/adjusted package tare %
checked/adjusted package sizes
checked/adjusted item weight and size

I find it puzzling that this add-on worked fine up until the upgrade. I am currently going through the add-on files and the files from the 1.3.9 upgrade to see if there are any overwritten files that perhaps should have been merged, this may have been missed by the person doing the upgrade.

You said "the option has gone missing", but didn't clarify what exactly "gone missing" looks like. What exactly has "gone missing"? Are you saying the CP Lettermail shipping module doesn't show in the admin list of shipping modules? If so, did it disappear from the list but the REST of the list shows just fine?

Or does the list of modules "break" and the right-sidebox and page footer are missing? If part of the page is missing (whether that "looks blank" or not), then that's likely a result of PHP errors being encountered. Hence the debug logs will expose the problem.

Or does "gone missing" look like something else I've not asked?

Further, even if you just looked to see what myDebug-xxxxx.log files are being generated, you'd probably have numerous clues as to the causes of various problems you've got going on.
Did you look for them?

Sorry, my frustration level is beyond reproach at this point, this is my busiest time of the year, and I hired someone to do this as I do not have the time, rescources or skill set to be knowledgeably dealing with all these issues.

With Singapore 11 hours ahead of our time zone, I have had trouble getting response from them, I didn't realize where they were when I hired and paid them.

I did look at the cache as you suggested, but there are only two errors in there and nothing to do with this issue, these errors were generated 2 days ago and were related to a database.

There isn't a blank space, it is acting like the lettermail option has been turned off, I do have some spacing/layout issues, but I think that is a completely seperate issue that they ignored.

The company that I found to work on this, through the ZenCart Help wanted, had the problem all fixed up by the time I woke up this morning. I think my impantience go the better of me.

I was mistaken when I said 'Singapore', apparently they are in 'Indonesia"

Other than the time difference, I have to say 'they upgraded and fixed everything', My lack of time to 'test' the site before it went live, led me to approve the update without fully checking every function.
