How to remove Page Titles on Eazy Pages

Hi guys,

Two questions:

*What do I need to do in order to delete the Page titles on only one Eazy Page?
I created a "Home" page and other pages by using Eazy pages.
I need to remove the title text "Home" as I do not want it to be displayed on the page.

*How to set my "Home" Page as default so that when people type in the url of the website, the home page opens up and not the products or category pages?

Re: How to remove Page Titles on Eazy Pages

For the second question, the only way I know to do that is with a permanent redirect to the EZ page. You can do it manually by creating/editing an htaccess file, or the easy way in your hosting account's control panel.

Re: How to remove Page Titles on Eazy Pages

Why are you complicating the issue? Create a home page in the Define Pages editor... define_main_page.php

You really don't need to use EZpages for this... a DEFINED PAGE already exists - and as it is a HTML page, (and not stored in the dbase like ezpages) you can probably add more features to it than you would if it were an EZpage.

Thank you, I did not notice the html page before.
So do you suggest that I forego Ezpages altogether in favor of using the defined pages?

If I do not use EZpages, then how to get navigation links to pages to display? The only reason I have used Eazypages, is because it creates a page navigation automatically. I have not found how to add such navigation using defined pages only.

Btw,this is my first attempt at building a site completely within Zencart,so forgive what must seem to you like utter ignorance.

Re: How to remove Page Titles on Eazy Pages

Here is the answer to my original question for those of you who are also looking for a way to disable Page Tittles from appearing on Eazy Pages...

JUST ADD THIS TO YOUR CSS:

#ezPagesHeading { display: none; }

:clap::clap:

Admin >>> Tools >>> Define Pages Editor...

There you will see a list of common pages, whose links are generally displayed in the sidebox titled "Information".

The home page content is stored in define_main_page.php

There is also a sidebox called "more information" which deals with the EXTRA defined pages called Page_2, Page_3 and Page_4.

You can control which of these "defined pages" is given a link in their relevant sideboxes by adjusting settings in

Admin >>> configuration >>> defined pages status

These pages are stored as html (php actually) files in the languages file-set - under the template you have chosen to use.

There is a second "set" of "Defined Pages"

EZPages can be LINKS (external or internal) or PAGES. The location of the links text to these elements can be either HEADER, FOOTER, or in the EZPages sidebox called "Important Links".

You do not need to create a home page using ezpages, as the customised CONTENT for your main page (landing page) of your zencart site is automatically contained in the define_main_page.php file.

Thank you for all the information.
I however, do not want page links to be displayed in a sidebox aka information box at all and have disabled it.
Instead, I want to display a horizontal tabbed or text navigation to all pages within the site.

To come back to my reason for using
Eazy pages, Eazy pages automaticall creates these horizontal links.
If I can figure out how to get a similar horizontal navigation when using define pages, it will be great. I have enabled css buttons/tabs in admin, but no navigation bar of links to pages are automatically created in a horizontal fashion when using define pages for the website.
The only horizontal navigation I have managed to create is the products category's displayed horisontally almost akin to a tag cloud and off course the horisontal Easy Pages navigation.

If you could perhaps instruct me as to how I can accomplish a horisontal nav bar with links to all pages of the website, including pages such as about us,location etc?

Re: How to remove Page Titles on Eazy Pages

When you create the EZ page, you have the option of either adding content or pointing to an existing page using the Internal or External URL boxes.

If you want a link to say, define_main_page, in the navsupp area, just create an EZ page and point it to the main page URL in the Internal box.
