Removing tax from checkout pages

In my checkout pages the following details are shown:

Sub-Total: £13.00

Zone Rates (Shipping to GB (1 x 0.27kg(s))): £2.34

VAT 17.5%: £1.94

Total: £15.34

This obviously doesn't add up. The VAT is already included in the sub-total and shipping amounts.
Would someone please tell me how to stop the VAT line from displaying on these pages (pages 2 & 3 of checkout confirmation).

Many thanks,
Steve

Re: Removing tax from checkout pages

The same processing approach used in the checkout as on invoices and you legally have to show the VAT on your invoices (I suspect you have to show it on your checkout too, but am not as sure of that).

The way I typically handle this for my UK clients is to increase the sort order on the Admin Order Totals page so that it comes last and change the text to say "includes VAT at 17.5%".

You have to watch the calculations for discounts and coupons though. They were a tad dodgy in 1.3.8, but there have been a lot of changes (that I haven't yet tested) in 1.3.9.

Re: Removing tax from checkout pages

Thanks Kuroi.
There is no requirement to show VAT in the checkout as far as I know.
I raise invoices separately to show the VAT. This allows me to ensure the correct treatment of coupons, discounts etc.

I can't work out how to remove this VAT line. Can anyone tell me which template to edit please?
