Cannot Add or edit image in categories

Suddenly, I am not able to add an image to any of my categories. Nor am I able to edit an image (or even the text) for a category that already has an image. Until lately, I have not tried to do any of this for probably about a year so I am not even remotely aware of whether or not this has been an issue for sometime (but one that I simply not aware of). I only know that it is frustrating. Any ideas as to what may be happening?

I get the following error when I try to add or edit an image:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /MY CUSTOM ADMIN NAME/categories.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I don't know if this is related to the problem or not but I noticed this error first yesterday when trying to use the define pages editor on my main page. Can someone please help?

To the best of my knowledge, these were two separate issues (though I permitted myself to entertain the idea that they might be somehow related). If I had sufficient understanding of how Zencart actually works- then I would not have needed to seek help from others. And I fail to see how adding a comment such as "I'm having this problem too," could be considered 'hi-jacking.' My only intention in 'joining' that other thread was to communicate that- if more than one person is experiencing the issue then, perhaps it is not so isolated and 'maybe' just *maybe *that information could help an expert in making a more focused diagnosis.

So thanks for the venomous reply but it really wasn't very helpful.

So is there any other person of knowledge that wants to slap a struggling innocent around for their own *serpent-like *edification or is this truly a help forum? I humbly appreciate any *legitimate *assistance that anyone is kind enough to offer.

To anyone who is having this problem and so thereby stummbled onto this thread.

Here's what ended up solving the problem for me (so maybe it can for you too).

I contacted my hosting service and explained to them the error that I was getting. Before the end of the day I got the following response:

"It appears that your domain may be hitting some of our recently updated mod_security rules. We can whitelist these, but first we will need to be able to reproduce the error."

And that ended up taking care of it. So if you're reading this thread, you may want to check with your hosting service first. (Mine is awesome, by the way. I wish I'd thought to contact them in the first place - could have saved myself some grief).

Oh- and to clarify: you may be getting the "Forbidden, You don't have permission to access" error when you try to either:

COLOR="Red" Change an image on your categories[/COLOR] or
COLOR="Blue" attempt to edit something in the define pages editor[/COLOR]

Two completely different sections of Zencart that, as it turned out, had a common problem (which is still TWO issues). Best of luck and hope this helps!
