Free Shipping Rules - Default, hide other shipping option upon checkout

No wonder it wouldn't work. It's working now!

I'm looking at the code from earlier in this post to have it hide the item shipping if the free option shows and can't seem to figure it out.

Is there an easy way to do that?

To only have the Free Shipping Option freeoptions show for its Zone Definition, then you would have to build a Zone Definition for everything else except the 1 state in the other Zone Definition and add that to the Item Rate item shipping module ...

Or, let both show and let the customer pick either the Item Rate item or the Free Shipping Option freeoptions ...

Now somthing strange is happening, after they select the shipping and press next, the page just sits there and doesn't load?

I've turned off the free and still does it. I messed with names in the languages for the display, did that mess it up?

You would need to be more specific on what you mean by you messed with names in languages ...

If you look in the /cache you should see the debug logs, if you are using version 1.3.9 ...

I changed the Name Table Rate, to Shipping Cost in the Launguages area.

Got it sorted.

Somehow, I added 3 additional lines after the closing ?> in the table.php.

Took them out and it works now. :clap:

Thanks for the update that this was caused by a php error where you had space(s) and/or blank line(s) after the closing php bracket ?> at the end of the file ...

I am a complete Zen novice and am having terrible problems configuring my shipping module to suit my requirements.

Please pardon my naive techno language but this is what I need for shipping:
In Australia-Free shipping for orders over $40
For orders under $40 in Australia-Flat $6.95 to every state.

For everywhere outside of Australai there is no free shipping offered so for any total amount I want my customers to get to checkout and the shipping message to be something like"Shipping quote to be sent via email". I can't see any other way of doing this because I cannot weigh every item in my shop-I sell medical dressings, continence products etc with several thousand items!

Can anyone please help me???

You could try to clone the Flat Rate shipping module for the rest of the world ... and set to 0.00 to allow the checkout ... and change the language file to read:
Shipping quote to be sent via email

but I am not sure how many will want to complete an order like that nor how you intend to bill them ...

For the Australia-Free shipping for orders over $40 go to the Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ot_shipping you can set that to Free Shipping Enabled, 40.00 and National ...

Then, set the Flat Rate up for 6.95 with a Zone Definition for Details with Country: Australia and Zones: All Zones ...

I have one item in the shop which i would like to offer free shipping for.
When I set it to Free Shipping, it comes up in the checkout, but still has a Special Delivery Option. I would not mind having the Special Delivery option, but the weight sets to 0kgs and therefore the delivery charge is the lowest.

I put in free shipping rules: free shipping for order: 149$ or more and until 5kg.

I have always the 2 choices: free shipping or pay shipping when order is more 149$ and lower than 5kg.

Free Shipping Options freeoptions is designed to show at the same time as other shipping modules to be an Option for the customer but still allow them to select another, faster shipping method from the other shipping choices ...

What shipping modules do you currently have installed right now?

i have french colissimo installed and the problem it's there is free shipping: 0euro or Colissimo: 10.60euro and people can chose to pay shipping colissimo: 10.60euro; when order is more than 149euro and lower 5kg.

i search a code to put in this module; colissimo shipping to disable it when order id more than 149euro and lower than 5kg; itry this but it doesnt work:

this code is ok; but other module colissimo shipping; is always disable, not only when order is more than 149euro and lower 5kg...

I am not familiar with the code but check, before customizing, that this shipping module works ...

A common issue is Zones that are setup incorrectly for the shipping modules ...

I hope someone can advise me on this issue.

I am using the Royal Mail Module.

I have a product that we offer free shipping on, so need that to reflect in the cart.

I set the free shipping option, and it comes up as an option in the cart, but it also shows a Special Delivery Option of £6.05. If it was to be sent Special Delivery, it would be £22.65. I wouldn't mind having the Special Delivery Option, but at the correct price.

All other items come up with the correct Special Delivery opion, and the weight is set correctly.

I have now worked out why it puts the Special Delivery cost as the lowest. When the product is made Free Shipping, the weight goes to 0kgs, and therefore the Special Delivery cost is based on that.

I feel so close now, but I hope someone can help to rectify this problem.

I look forward to any advice on this one.
