complete newbie, have no clue what i'm doing

our store was already setup by our previous webmaster. our company laid him off and gave me all his responsibilities, with no web experience or anything and now of course my boss wants all these changes to our online store way beyond anything i know or can think of.

he wants our current specials and featured products reversed, specials on top products on bottom. i have looked through everything i can think of and cant find anything. any help would be appreciated. once again i am a complete newbie, i can change prices, add specials, add products, and thats about the extent of my knowledge

You're in luck - you're starting out with an easy one.

Go to Admin - Configuration - Index Listing. You can set the sort (display) order of those elements there by changing the value of each. A lower number places that section higher on the page.
