upgraded- "down for maintenance" not working

hey everyone.. so thanks to great help i FINALLY uprgraded.. but i have one issue while i work on my store.. i cant go DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE. if you go to my site.. it says on th top :down for maintenance to public" but in reality it still lets you navigate and shop....
i checked the configure files and i have for all to be hidden and down for maintenance.. was working BEFORE upgrade...

can anyone help me out? i dont want ppl to think they can buy while i have some fixing to do....

thx

It's working here - I can't shop or see your site. Do you have your IP address set to allow you access?

im having a similar problem. I moved my files up a directory and it doesn't show the down for maintenance page. There is only a small red bar that indicates that it's down but you can still view things.

EDIT: NEVER MIND. I feel so DUMB. I can still see everything because I enabled my IP for testing purposes..... SORRY!! ahh I feel so stupid yet happy that it's not something serious... maybe my brain functions tho... haha

Not such a dumb thing ... think how many folks you just taught something new to ...

Think how many folks are chuckling to themselves think ... "yeps ... got that T-Shirt myself" ... :lamo:

haha thank you very much Ajeh for those king and encouraging words :)
