Is updating really this complicated?

I have been hired to upgrade ZenCart for a site I did not build, therefore I don't know where it has been customized.

I expected Zencart to update easily like WordPress, but it looks like it needs to be updated manually. I found these directions: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=108

Is it really that complicated? I need to compare all the code and make each change manually?

If it's what I have to do, it's what I have to do, but ack.

(Mental Note: If I ever install Zencart, I need to list all my customization in one file for posterity.)

Thanks,
Kim

P.S. upgrading from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9b

Re: Is updating really this complicated?

The tutorial is correct.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

If you've been following the override system, the majority of your changes should be isolated.
