New Products for (month) sort order problems

Hi,

Can anyone help me change the sort order for this box to descending by date added? Unfortunately the solutions posted in previous threads no longer work with 1.3.9b.

Anyone? I have to say this is one of the most aggravating things about zen cart... the box says "new products" but simply doesn't display new products. It just doesn't make sense.
