How to add additional text to main_page=specials?

Hi guys,

Which file do I need to edit in order to add a few lines of text to the main_page=specials and also to edit the page heading?

I have tried adding text to specials.php via define pages option in admin, but obviously the wrong page to edit because no changes reflect on the specials page.
