[DONE v1.3.9d] Free Charge Card appears as Gift Certificate/Coupon

Hi everyone,
I was searching around on the forums but I could not seem to find a solution (or even a mention) of my problem.

Whenever one of my customers place an order for a free PDF download of our site's catalog, the payment method always results as a Gift Certificate/Coupon instead of using the Zen Cart Free Charge Card. The website is located here: http://www.beryls.com. This issues does not seem to be effecting any other part of the website that I can tell but I would really appreciate it if someone could help me troubleshoot the error.

The version of Zen Cart we are using is a clean install of 1.3.9b with updated tables of the mysql database from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9b. The configuration table was not copied over - we set the settings using the admin on 1.3.9b.

First, I would go to the Modules for Payment, Shipping and Order Total and save the settings to NotePad and then do a REMOVE, INSTALL and reconfigure to ensure all are setup with the current version keys ...

Fresh install of 1.3.9 on my test server;
no add-ons;
The Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD - installed; (no additional payment modules installed)
gift certificates - disabled;
discount coupons - disabled.

product(s) are free

Always Free Shipping - No, Normal Shipping Rules
Product is Virtual - No, Shipping Address Required
Product Model - depends on the product but would be similar to (CDGSNM01)

When processing an order
the payment method page shows The Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD as expected.
The order confirmation page shows no payment method.

Order completes normally and product can be downloaded.

When checking admin -> customers -> orders
payment method shows as Gift Certificate/Coupon

If you are not using the Gift Certificates and Discount Coupons you should uninstall them not just disable them ...

If you only have The Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD freecharger installed does this mean everything on the site is free?

I clicked the remove button on both Gift Certificates and Discount Coupons

This is a test site and yes, all the products are free.

Just for grins and giggles ... switch to the Classic template ...

Yes it is a bug ... it may be a day or two before we work out a resolve to this ... :unsure:

Hi Everyone,

I have almost the same problem as the OP, the only difference is that the shopping cart was correctly showing payment method as "Free item" instead of "Gift Certificate/Coupon" until a couple of days ago.

I tried to look for the codes Linda posted in this thread for the order_total.php file but I couldn't find them. Any help would be appreciated.

Our version of the shopping cart is 1.3.8a.

This fix is for v1.3.9 not v1.3.8 ...

Have you changed anything recently on your shop?

Are your Free Products Downloads or regular products?

Are these new products or old ones that have always worked in the past ... meaning does the order have new products in it or old ones that previously worked?
