Layout Boxes Controller has no entry after templare install

Hi all,
I'm new to zen cart and this is my first post.
I have successfully installed version 1.3.9b on my server.
Tested and it works.

Purchased a new template, and followed all instructions.
When it is all done, I clicked on the Online catalog to see the new look but it only shows a blank page. No error just a blank page.

The first few instruction was to select the new template, which I did.
Next is to get into the Layout Boxes Controller and press the reset button. Should I see any entries in the layout boxes controller ?? I have no entries at all even before pressing the reset button.

Is that the problem here?

Any help would be appreciated.

What happens when you switch back to the Classic template ?

after the new template install, I no longer able to switch back to the classic template. It is not available in the dropdown anymore, strange...

Another thing...
One of the instruction was to copy the downloaded includes folder to my root zen installation on my server.
The template includes folder contains no files except 2 folders ( modules and templates ) where they are files in those 2 folders.

This would overwrite my server's includes folder that has many files and many folders.
Does that sound right?

Welcome to ZenCart!

No. That would not be correct. Simply uploading a folder that has no files other than another sub-directory should not delete your existing ZenCart files.

Did you make any changes to the files you just uploaded and if so, what.

Also, are you able to make a comparison between the original layout boxes file and the one you changed?
