Uploaded Zencart but wrong url

I just installed Zen Cart last night and the url is not correct. The extension of the zencart is in my home url.

Example: https://www.acme.com/zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-fileset-12112007/index.php?main_page=index

I have deleted and uploaded again but the same result. Should I remove the folder and place all files in the public_html without the zen-cart folder?

This is alot of work and I am getting no where.

Re: Uploaded Zencart but wrong url

What do you mean the url is not correct?

  1. Download zen cart.
  2. unzip it.
  3. rename the folder to something more friendly, such as "store" or zencart 1.3.9c or whatever your current zen cart package is.
Now, do you want your store installed directly in your home directory, ie, YourDomain.com or do you want it in a subdirectory, YourDomain.com/store? If you want it directly in your home director (yourDomain.com), load your ftp program; in your local window, navigate to zencart folder and open it up; then navigate to your home directory (root) on your server; select all the files from zen cart (local drive) folder and click upload.

If you want to dump everything in a subdirectory yourDomain.com/store, then create "store" folder off of root (public_html) and navigate to /store and upload directly into store; alternatively, you can name your zencart folder that you unzipped, name that store, then upload "store" to public_html.

Hope this makes sense. I've found the Zen Cart "install" instructs in the docs folder to be straight forward. Try to follow the directions step by step.

Yes. The Zencart zip file unzips into an intermediate folder. If you uploaded that folder, just use your FTP program to move all the folders and files to the root (public_html) folder of your site.
