Free Shipping Question re: Discounts

Hello--

We are using Zen Cart 1.3.8a version. We offer free shipping on orders over $150. We also offer coupons and discounts. Our issue is that a customer can place an item in their shopping cart that is above $150 and zen cart then offers Free Shipping as an option. If the customer then applies a discount coupon to their order, and the order total (for instance) is adjusted to $130, Zen Cart still offers the customer Free Shipping. Is there a way to set it up in zen cart so that Free Shipping is only offered if the customers order total AFTER discounts is a certain amount? New to the forum, appreciate any assistance--thanks everyone.

I've had this same issue for 2 years. I've search for a solution and eventually contacted a designer to have it custom done for me but it was going to be a labor intensive job and more $$ than I could put into it. So, I just live with it.
