Newbie needs help with USPS

I'm having a problem getting my USPS module to work. Im using zen cart 1.38 Any body else have the same problem?? The instruction tell me to call the USPS I have like ten times they tell me its working fine and to call some one at zen cart.

Impossible to say unless we know exactly what problem you're having. Also, what version of Zencart, what mods installed, etc.

You should also look at upgrading your site to the latest release of Zen Cart v1.3.9c which has all of the Security Patches and Updates as well as the Known Bug Fixes in it ...

the problem I'm having with the USPS is: It never recognizes the USPS server as active so it never turns the option on, until it's on, it cant be used by the page.

What error messages are you getting?

Try to REMOVE, INSTALL and reconfigure ...

Do you have any Zones set on it?

Are you using Sort Orders on your shipping modules? If so, make sure all the shipping modules you have installed have unique sort orders ...

What is the version id of the usps.php module from the server?

Check that you have the current one from the Security Patches and updates:

Hi,
I am having the same problem. I called USPS and they have confirmed that I have production access (including the rate calculator). However the USPS shipping module on my website is not working. On the checkout shipping page it shows USPS as the shipping option but it does not calculate the shipping rate.

-Zencart version: 1.3.8a
-Zip Code has been entered in Admin/Config/Shipping
-No custom zones have been entered
-Under Admin/Modules/Shipping: USPS is the only module active, and the sort order is 1. The webusers ID was entered where requested.

Could you go to the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... and in the bottom input box enter:
usps.php

and see what version line comes up for that?

I just updated to 1.3.9c and I have several issue one being the USPS not available for estimate or shipping. I turned the debug on but cannot make any sense of the error

Remove and reinstall and configure.

Note:
Make sure you write down your ID and take note of how you had it configuered.

Thanks for the update that just the proper configuration was required after Writing down the original settings in NotePad (or trying to memorize them) doing the Remove ... Install ... and re-configure of the Module so that you had all of the current settings available to run the shipping module ... :smile:
