Is there a way to set an attribute for an entire category?

I sell printers - I have a category called laserjet printers and every product in it needs an attribute called jetdirect with the same three options.

I've built the Value and Name for the Attribute no problem, but it'd be a whole lot easier if I could add it to all 80 products at once rather than adding it 80 times...

I've looked around and not seen a straight yes or no answer to this question.

Is there a current option to do this?

Not directly, but there is a function in the Attribute Controller to copy attributes to another product or whole category. Set up a dummy product with that one attribute, then copy it to the desired category, using the "ignore and add new" option.
