asking a 2nd time, CKEDITOR.. not working

asking a 2nd time as no one replied 1st time and i see that there are a handful of other zenners that have the same problem and no ones answered them either.

downloaded CKeditor, followed instructions but nothing appears in the admin.

when i go to a page that uses an editor, the plain text and HTMLeditors appear ok, when i select CKeditor from the drop down list, the area where the editor shopuld appear is left blank.

i have downloaded 3 copies from the ZC downloads area,
i have uploaded each 3 times.
i have checked my webspace the files are in the same locations as the .txt file says
i have used winmerge to check the folder structure / files in the download and of those on my server and they're 100% the same.

so.. where is the CKEditor?

Re: asking a 2nd time, CKEDITOR.. not working

I just installed this mod on a clean 1.3.9c Zencart installation and it works fine for me. What Zencart version are you using, and waht other mods do you have installed?

Any other issues with javascript on your site?

Re: asking a 2nd time, CKEDITOR.. not working

Hi,

using 139c and the mods i have are as follows:

Invoice (SWGUY)
Inc/Ex VAT (Adnrew Moore)
Simple Google Analytics (Econcepts)
Encrypted Master Password (Denis Sayer)
Edit Orders (SWGUY)
CrossSell1.3.1 (Granville)
CrossSell Advances (Absolute)
Admin Profiles (Mr K)
Catergory Dressing (Glenn)

i check Admin profiles as that can cause problems with newly installed mods needing authorising, but CKEditor does not show on the list.

i have no errors with java popping up and no errors in my cache folder.

:frusty:

Re: asking a 2nd time, CKEDITOR.. not working

There are no interactions between Admin Profiles and CKEditor.

I agree with stevesh, this is most likely a javascript issue.

Re: asking a 2nd time, CKEDITOR.. not working

Was CKEditor selected as your default HTML editor in Admin > Configuration > My Store ?

You may want to double-check (I have made the same stupid mistake myself and couldn't see CKEditor initially )

Re: asking a 2nd time, CKEDITOR.. not working

FCK editor has been "repaired" for 1.3.9c (see the changelog in 1.3.9c)...

... or at least the ZC "collect_info.php" files have been "repaired", for the various product type module files.

I tried CK editor too, but have reverted to FCK Editor, now that the collect_info files have been patched properly.

If you are working on 1.3.9b, then the 1.3.9c patching instruction is just to overwrite the files specified in the changelog (a dbase upgrade is not necessary, I believe.)

I have FCK Editor working perfectly now on an install of 1.3.9c

Re: asking a 2nd time, CKEDITOR.. not working

I had no problem with CKeditor out-of-the-box. Even did a drop-in upgrade to v3.3.

However, I need a file manager and CKfinder seems like a good choice.

Has anyone integrated CKfinder with CKeditor?

Any luck with FCKeditor with 139c? is there a file manager with it?

Thanks :flex:

Re: asking a 2nd time, CKEDITOR.. not working

Good to know that the drop-in upgrade worked. Care was taken in development of the current version to allow this, so it's helpful to know that it proved possible in the wild.

You question about CKFinder has been answered here.
