upgrading from 1.3.9b to 1.3.9c

When upgrading from 1.3.9b to c do I need to uninstall paypal? then upgrade and reinstall? It looks like there are 38 files that have changed can I just compare those to the ones on my site make any changes if necessary and upload the 38 files? I just got paypal and google checkout working properly and would rather not mess with those files.

As the instructions for 1.3.9c say, you can just update the listed files.

Can I make a back up of my 1.3.9b site use winmerge to merge change files for 1.3.9c then restore? Or do I/is it better to individually add the changed files. Thank you.

That sounds like a lot more work than necessary, but yes you can do that.
