How to mass add attributes?

I can't figure out how to mass add attributes to all the products in a category. Does anyone know an instruction page somewhere to read about it?

Thanks

Back up the data base and entire site first!!!!!!!!!

admin panel/ catalog/ attribute controller

  1. click on the product you have added all your attributes too
  1. If you want to associate all these attributes to a category do this
  1. on the top of that page notice the button called copy to category (upper right hand side
  1. Follow the instructions..
  1. I always test these procedures on a test site first before I jump into a live site.

Re: How to mass add attributes?

As an alternative, I would suggest Apsona ShopAdmin. With it, you can create a comma-separated list of values for the product id (or name), product option and product option value, and import the list into the product attributes table. This way, you can specify exactly the products you want updated. This gives you perhaps a bit more flexibility in the case where you don't want to update all the products in a category but rather a selected set of products.

Hope this helps.

Re: How to mass add attributes?

Thank you guys.

I ended up using the "Copy Item Attribute to Category" option on the attributes page.
