American Express Card Acceptance Issue

Hello,

I am using 1.3.8a. I received an email from a customer tonight telling me that during checkout when he entered his Amex card, Zen-Cart said he hadn't filled in the credit card information completely. He verified the cc number, exp. date and the card code. The cart simply would not let him proceed.

I checked with Authorize.net and the transaction never made it to them. Any suggestions on what do to?

I thought for sure I had taken Amex before. Could something be turned off in Zen-Cart?

What payment module are you using?

Sorry about that, I am using Authorize.net AIM.

Admin->Configuration->Credit Cards ... is Amex enabled?

Thought it was solved, I was wrong. Now the customer is getting this error:

Error The configuration with processor is invalid. Call Merchant Service Provider. - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct the information and try again or contact us for further assistance.

I called Anet and they said it looks to be configured properly on their end. I have Log File set under Debug. Can I see a log file that will tell me what the issue is?

If by "Anet" you mean Authorize.net, then you can turn on Debug Logging inside your Authorize.net payment module. That log will show you the response codes returned by the transaction attempt.
You can then use that information to get your Authorize.net rep to properly fix your account.

Sorry Dr. Byte, yes Authorize.net. I am using the Authorize.net AIM module. In the Authorize.net AIM Payment I have Debug Mode: Log File selected.

How can I view the log and error?

and this only seems to be happening with American Express. VIsa and Mastercard appear to be working.

Your authnet account is probably not set up to accept AmEx.
