about maintenance vs contact-us page?

about maintenance vs contact-us page?

I found that when "Down for Maintenance: ON/OFF" is on, the page "contact us" still can be accessed. What can I do to solve it?

Why do you want to stop people contacting you, just because you are editing your site?

You are right. But, I set that when down for maintenance is on, the left and right column will be hide. If the contact us page still show, the column show together. It looks not comfortable.
And on the other hand, I want to know how to change it.

The settings are on about line 61 of the file:
/includes/init_includes/init_customer_auth.php
