Site is very slow on dedicated hosting - Ceon URI Mapping

I was running my website on shared hosting on godaddy. Yesterday i migrated to Virtual dedicated hosting and it is very surprising that my site performance is much slower than when it was on shared hosting.
For importing sql files i could not use "extended insert" because i had to use "bigdump".
I have contacted the support but they are saying "try to optimize your apache server".

The server itself is running very fast even admin panel of my website is also running very fast as compared to when it was on shared hosting but main website is much much slower !!!

Please suggest what else can be the problem?

Turn off Category Counts ...

Turn on GZip ...

If you don't use centerboxes, don't just set the maximum number of products to display to 0, actually turn each of the boxes off in each of the Listings ...

If still a dog ... I'd be looking for some better hosting for an ecommerce site such as one of our Certified Hosts ...

If you use the addon firebug in Firefox, you can observe under the Net tab that quite some time is lost in accessing and not finding javascript_check.php. Is this file installed (fast and easy checkout)? Or is your SEO module blocking access?

Put the button picture "check plagiarism" on your server.

Google ga.js is installed twice.

Your database-server seems slow. This is apart from switching off the category count really a hosting company issue. You can remedy this to some extent with Query cache

I appreciate the comments/feedback given by all valuable zenners.
Today i have shifted back to my shared hosting and analyzed the performance difference. It takes almost 10 seconds to open the front page and remaining pages open in just 2-3 seconds but it was around 60-70 seconds on dedicated hosting.

My response: If you just see the difference of shared and dedicated hosting you'll be surprised that shared hosting is much faster than virtual dedicated hosting. Now what do you suggest.

Ajeh: Turn off category counts.

My response: If you visit my website again you'll see that category counts just don't make any difference there.

By the way godaddy today told me that SQL server is loaded with 650 % of CPU when you open the website on virtual dedicated server.

I think the best thing is to consider moving the site... The company you are with makes no secret of its policy to "stack 'em high and sell 'em cheap". They are not suitable for sophisticated hosting, and have no intention to change the way they operate. This is their decision, and I am in no position to criticise them for it... that is the way they choose to do business.

The decision has to be yours, and if you have given it a lot of thought and believe the problems you are facing is bad for your business, then the choice is simple... move the site.

3. Check how Query Log works
4. Check which queries take most time to execute (they'll be in red) and post them here
   With that I will be able to tell You more. I actually doubt that it's godaddy fault - it's probably one to five killer queries that slows down Your site.

Your site should not be generating 1400+ queries per page. What does the query count drop to if you turn off category counts?

If you go into Admin > Configuration > Index Listing are all the 'Show...' options set to 0?

My experience with any shared hosting has never been good. Whoever your new host is make sure to get at least a VPS I would look to spend $50 per month. Hostgater has a 40 per month plus 10 per month for c-panel license.

When i contact google webmaster for this issue regarding google indexing. They say that you must optimize your website. Now please tell me what kind of optimization is required in my site.
