How do I COMPLETELY back up my zen cart-based site?

Hi there,

Does anyone know how to completely backup a zen-cart based website so that it could be restored to working order even if everything on a server got wiped out. Better to be safe:cool:

Right now, the only thing I'm doing to backup my site is downloading all of the files located on my server via FTP (using FireFTP). What else should I do to backup stuff that my Zen cart uses? Where are the ez-pages, zen cart admin settings, etc. stored and how can I back these up?

Thanks a ton!

Jason

You can use phpmyadmin to export the database. Log in to your web host control panel and find the phpmyadmin icon, sometimes it is under MySQL databases, you will find a link to phpmyadmin on the bottom.

The FAQ section is your friend, backing up the database is discussed here:

You will need to regularly backup your database as it is changed every time you add or delete a product, or when someone signs up, or purchases anything.

How much data could you afford to lose? An hour, a day, a week, or a month?

That will determine how often you will do this.

I have submitted BackUp ZC to the Free Software section but it has not been activated yet. But you could find a link to the mod here.

This mod has options to back up all your files and data base.

This is a GREAT mod! It was easy to install, and it's much quicker than downloading all the files via ftp.

Thanks Skip!
