Zen Cart does not recognize my custom page.

So I've set up a new page in includes/modules/my_template_name/pages/specials/main_template_vars.php, and I've updated the file to make some changes in the layout. But my shopping cart seem to not be reading the template I set up.

I know the changes I set up are working because I've tried them on the main includes/modules/main_template_vars.php and they work perfectly. I'd rather not have that file be the main dependent file for the layout change, does anyone know of why my cart may not be pulling the correct file for layout?

Thanks

Re: Zen Cart does not recognize my custom page.

Hi,

Not sure why you are using main_template_vars.php to override a template.

Normally, if you just want to override a template, then all you need to do is create the template in

includes/templates/MY_TEMPLATE/templates/

see

for more details

Re: Zen Cart does not recognize my custom page.

Hi,

Thanks for helping out, the reason I was modifying the file in that location was because I got the home "features" box area to work properly by adding a folder inside the main modules folder, after the name of my template.

Then I duplicated the "featured_products.php" into my new folder made the modifications I needed and zen cart read it properly. So I assumed the specials page would work the same way. But when i duplicated the specials page and moved it into that folder it did not recognize the changes.

I knew it was the correct file because if I modified the live one, it worked perfectly.

should i not be using a templated file in the modules folder at all?

thanks

Re: Zen Cart does not recognize my custom page.

Anywhere you see a /classic/ folder, you can create a folder for your custom template.
