Replacing buttons with text links only

So, I'm not fond of buttons, & I'd like to replace most of them with simple text links rather than images.

First thing I thought of was defining my alt-text for the buttons, and then deleting the images. That doesn't work so well, especially in certain browsers. But perhaps I could still do it with a bit of reworking in the html_output.php file?

Is there some other way to turn buttons off that I haven't noticed?
I feel like there's probably a simpler way that I haven't thought of.

Thanks for your efforts & time. I'm only a few weeks in to using Zen cart & this forums been extremely helpful so far!

One alternative that might suit you is to create buttons that don't look like buttons (just solid color matching your background, with text), replacing the originals with yours.
