Turn Off TAX for a customer...

Hi I have a customer that wants to use their Tax Exempt ID, I did not see a way to remove the tax for this person.

I couldn't see anything about the user having the ability or a code to place in to remove the taxes for this user.

Anyone have any clues?

I need to install this modules for tax exempt customers... I am new to zen cart and am stumbling throught so far. Ive been able to find everything I need so far in the forum and in the tutorials, but I am baffled by the process of installing a new modules. So, now that I have found the module I need, can anyone assist me in installing it?

There's a pretty good installation guide in the mod's zip file called 'documentation.txt'.

yes, I saw that, but because I'm a beginner, it is a bit more than I know....for instance, I don't know what this means : Run the SQL patch with the SQL tool in Zen Cart's Admin

Not necessarily.

Open the install.sql file in your text editor, Copy the contents, then open Admin - Tools - Install SQL Patches and Paste it into the box there and click Send.

Using your FTP program, drag and drop the two folders (admin and includes) from the mod to the root (top) directory of your site. If you've changed the name of your Zencart installation's admin folder, change the admin folder in the mod to the same name before uploading.

I think I need to back up and make sure that this module will do what I need before I move forward. i need a fix that will offer a tax exempt option for every customer at check out.... will this module do that?

No. This mod allows you to edit a customer's record in Admin - Customers - Customers and designate any customer as tax-exempt. It then sets all taxes to 0.00 for that customer's orders.

I didn't write the mod and I haven't used it.

You don't want the customer to be able to select tax exemption at checkout for obvious reasons.

yes, I see your point about not having it be an automatic options, but nearly 100% of our customers wlll be tax exempt. Will we need to do an individual fix for every of them?

Using that mod, yes. How many is 'nearly' 100% ?

You can turn off taxes in admin>modules>order total. And any other order modules you can edit. If you want to do for only a person. You can do discount for her/him. Take it easy.
