1.3.9b to c upgrade?

just got my site back up and running after 4 weeks of testing and reinstalling (as well as other nightmares... only 6 more sites to go) but the upgrade i started 4 weeks ago was with 1.3.9b.... what do i need to do to upgrade to 1.3.9c??

do i just need to copy over and replace the files listed in the file changes in the doc folder for 1.3.9c??

also noticed that the the database for 1.3.9b has database 1.3.9a so will i need to run the database upgrade again with the install from the 1.3.9c download??

GOD upgrading is a nightmare!

Re: 1.3.9b to c upgrade?

There are no database upgrades from 1.3.9a to b,c or d (yes 1.3.9d is out - just did 2 sites in 10 minutes).

Carefully read the changelog and whatsnew files of 1.3.9d and you will find that these upgrades are an absolute cakewalk - no install files to run if upgrading from 1.3.9a (or higher) to 1.3.9d.

Yes. If you have "a" now, then you need to apply the few changed-files from "b", and then the few changed files from "c" and then the few changed files from "d".
It's very simple ... just copy and replace.
If you've customized any of the files, of course preserve your customizations by merging them. But for the most part most of the files are unlikely to have been customized.

Re: 1.3.9b to c upgrade?

all my customisation are only stored in the template files or in there own modual files.

i just didn't know if the doc that said upgrade 139a that was all the files i needed to change or if i needed to change the files from 139b and c and d doc as well.

is there a database upgrade needed?

As the release notes and announcements say, there's no database upgrade needed between 1.3.9a/b/c/d
