How Display subcategory images and links on Main category page?

I've looked for weeks on how to display my subcategories pics and links on it's main category page. For instance, when clicking on main category perennials...I want my 2 subcategories to show on that page with their pics and links. How is this done?

What's your setting for the bottom option in Admin - Configuration - Product Listing and/or was your custom template created by hsyong ?
