Re: Turning off products by Manufacturer

There's no built-in way or mod that will do that. DrByte suggested in a different thread that you could do it if you knew the manufacturers id number and were knowledgeable in SQL, but he didn't provide details.

You could look at the code for categories, maybe, and adapt it to manufacturers.

Re: Turning off products by Manufacturer

It is not only the code issue, the database structure does not seems to support to temporary deactivate manufacturers, as per my coder. Can someone confirm if this is true?

Re: Turning off products by Manufacturer

rxalex - You can achieve this effect with Apsona ShopAdmin. Simply find all the products for the manufacturer in question, and then bulk update all their 'enabled' values to 'No'.

That doesn't deactivate manufacturers, only products. As far as I know there is no way to deactivate a manufacturer in the Zen Cart database.

Hope this helps.

Re: Turning off products by Manufacturer

You can also backup your database and run in the Tools ... Install SQL Patches ...

UPDATE products SET products_status = 0 WHERE manufacturers_id = XX;

where XX is the manufactuers_id you want to turn off the Products for ...
