Website not appearing when I enter the url but appears when I enter url + /index.php

I just transferred my website to a new host and followed this tutorial https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=100.
The website transferred properly except that when i enter the url, the website doesn't appear, but when I enter the url + /index.php, the website appears.
My only guess is that maybe I didn't do step 6 of the 'fix_cache_key' tutorial properly.
Is the purpose of this 'fix_cache_key' utility to fix a problem like this?
Any idea of what could cause this problem?

rrzc, You need to add index.php to your default files list on your host package. (Cpanel )

The server will then automatically look for and find index.php just the same as it automatically finds default.htm etc.

Does anything appear with just the base URL? You may have an index.html file in the root of your site. That would load first.

Make sure there is no index.html or index.htm file in the root, and if it still doesn't work, add ```
DirectoryIndex index.php

What is happening right now is when I enter just the base url, the host's "under construction" page appears, but when I enter url/index.php, the website will appear properly.
I've installed zencart a few times before and this has never happened and I'm trying to figure out what would have caused this.

That worked. There was a index.html file in there that needed to be deleted. Thank you for your help.
