Poll Manager Support Thread

Another issue that may occur if IE is used, is that the poll sidebox is not resized after voting and display of the vote results.

To fix this:

In file: /includes/templates/<YOUR TEMPLATE>/sideboxes/tpl_poll_box.php

Around line 69, insert AFTER the following line:

    document.getElementById(element_id).innerHTML = http.responseText;

these two lines:

    document.getElementById(element_id).style.display="none";
    document.getElementById(element_id).style.display="block";

This will force the browser to re-render the DIV element after receiving the AJAX-results.

Re: Poll Manager Support Thread

Firstly, thanks for a great mod.

For some reason my votes aren't showing up. The sidebox goes blank when I vote and when I click "results" it shows that nobody has voted.

The installation seemed to go fine so I can't figure out what the problem is.

I've tried on chrome and firefox.

My website is here

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Poll Manager Support Thread

I've just noticed:

When I go to Tools >Layout Boxes Controller, The poll_box.php is highlighted in red. I've never seen this before.

Hi,

It seems that the poll votes are not processed. In any case, nothing is returned to the poll box.
Can you check if the file zcrpc.php is uploaded properly?
Are any errors logged?

There is a first time for everything :-)
It's in red because the sidebox is in your template folder and not in the general/default folder.
Nothing wrong there.

Can you check your database and see if all three tables for PM exist? poll and poll_options should contain data, I guess poll_results is empty.

Btw what versions ZC and PM?

All 3 tables exist. I'm using Zecart 1.3.9h and PM 1.1

Is it possible that Pole Manager may be conflicting with the Magic Slideshow im using to display the product images?

http://www.magictoolbox.com/magicslideshow/

Thanks

It's possible but I'm not convinced that is the case.
I will send you a new version of zcrpc with some more debug code in it. This might help to find out what's wrong. Do you also have a testsite?

Re: Poll Manager Support Thread

Poll Manager 1.2 is available from the Add On section!

New in this version:

  • Moved all layout definitions to separate css
  • Added install script for Zen-Cart 1.5
  • Fixed poll box is not resized after vote (IE bug)
  • Fixed language constant PM_NO_POLLS defined in wrong file

Please read the installation/upgrade instructions carefully!

print "<td>" . zen_draw_input_field("option_text_" . $option, $fields["text"], 'size="64" maxlength="64"', true) . "</td>";
print "<td align="center">" . zen_draw_checkbox_field("option_inpf_" . $option, "1", ($fields["inpf"] == 1), "", "id="option_inpf_" . $option . "" onclick="if(counttextinput(" . count($options) . ") > 1){alert('". PM_USER_INPUT_WARNING . "'); this.checked=0;};"") . "</td></tr>\n";

Re: Poll Manager Support Thread

My store is v1.3.9h and i download the Poll Manager v1.2
but when i run the install_zc_1.5.sql in tools SQL patch, it shows :
1146 Table '_.admin_pages' doesn't exist
in:
[SELECT (@sort_order:=MAX(sort_order)+1) FROM admin_pages WHERE menu_key='tools';]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.
why? anybody can help me?

The patch you ran is for ZenCart 1.5, not for 1.3.
To correct this: first run uninstall_zc_1.5.sql, then run install_zc_1.3.sql

If all PM files are in the right place, PM should appear in the tools menu. Please check if all files are uploaded correctly.

Did you also adjust the name of the admin folder, if needed?

What happens if you type the link to PM in your browser directly? Format is <admin url>/poll_manager.php.
