Lines appearing in the background

Hi,
I THINK i have a problem with my css somewhere :'( and it's driving me crazy. This is my first commercial website, so I'm only just feeling my way around.

Basically my problem is; I have black lines appearing in the background of my site, which seem to be effected when you hover over the links in the header. I have no idea how they appeared, and unfortunately I've tried playing with the css but to no avail.

My site is here: http://www.needlewoman.com.au/ any help at all would be very very much appreciated.

I found a similar problem in this thread: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99688&highlight=lines+appearing however none of these solutions solved my dilemma, and I can't see where I've any margins, or padding tags which could be causing this lines.
If anyone has any ideas I would LOVE to hear them please!!!
Thank you! :D

Re: Lines appearing in the background

When viewing your site in IE is see this -->

So you can click View and then view source

<div id="navCurrenciesWrapper">
           <!-- <div class="nav_language">

                Languages

                <a href="http://needlewoman.com.au/index.php?main_page=down_for_maintenance&language=en"><img src="includes/languages/english/images/icon.gif" alt="English" title=" English " width="24" height="15"  style="vertical-align:middle;" /></a>

            </div>  <!-- nav_language -->
            -->Notice the highlighted red --> I believe this is your fix. It is located in the wrong positon..

Should look like this:
> <div id="navCurrenciesWrapper">

           <!-- <div class="nav_language">

                Languages

                <a  href="http://needlewoman.com.au/index.php?main_page=down_for_maintenance&language=en"><img  src="includes/languages/english/images/icon.gif" alt="English" title="  English " width="24" height="15"  style="vertical-align:middle;"  /></a>

            </div> -->

Don't quote me on this one, but i am close

Re: Lines appearing in the background

Correction should look like this:

<div id="navCurrenciesWrapper">
           <!-- <div class="nav_language"> -->

                Languages

                <a  href="http://needlewoman.com.au/index.php?main_page=down_for_maintenance&language=en"><img  src="includes/languages/english/images/icon.gif" alt="English" title="  English " width="24" height="15"  style="vertical-align:middle;"  /></a>

            </div>  <!-- nav_language -->

Notice where the red --> was moved too...
You will find this .php file to edit if you use the developers tool kit...
> admin panel/ tools/ developers tool kit

  1. Search for:
  1. navCurrenciesWrapper

Re: Lines appearing in the background

Okies, well now i'm even more confussed lol.

So i dont want that code to be active, and taking away the comment code, just makes my site go heywire.
I dont want that code, so i've more neatly arranged the comment tags, however it doesn't make any difference, and changing the code the way you have suggested just pushes everything all over the place, omg, i'm so worried...
Any other ideas?

Re: Lines appearing in the background

In FF and IE, all looks well.....

When using IE use the F5 key to refresh the browser....

Re: Lines appearing in the background

Okies well...
I still can't find any solutions, I've completely removed the comment (above), and looked through tpl_header.php for any obvious errors, but I can't see any. My thinking is still on an error with css.
But I'm so over whelmed and frustrated I just can't think it through...
Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts would be MORE than greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you

Re: Lines appearing in the background

Krisc:

Nopes the problem is only in IE not Firefox, thats why I Origanally thought that it might have something to do with the problems mentioned in this post: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99688&highlight=lines+appearing. I'll keep looking

perfect in IE 8 here - must be a local issue your end:yes:

You can try the fix in your last post and see what happens - just make a backup of the css first
