Customer can't confirm order

Hello,

I am setting up a fresh install of ZC version 1.3.9d and have so far installed the following mods:

Easy Populate CSV
Email Archive Manager
Encrypted Master Password
EZ-Pages Meta Tag Fields
Update products quantity in category listing
Personalized My Account Link
Ask A Question
Captialize Sign-up Fields
Confirm Email Address Entry
Edit Cart
FAQ Module
Admin Activity Report
Back Up My Site PHP Files
Backup MYSQL Plugin
Admin Profiles

When going through the checkout process I have added all the information for payment and shipping but when I click "Confirm Order" on the Step 3 of 3 - Order Confirmation page it just loops back to the same page with no error messages or anything.

Has anyone any idea what the problem is?!

Thanks

Re: Customer can't confirm order

Hello,

I have looked into this further and found that the button to conifmr the order is missing its "action" and is stopping it working.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Re: Customer can't confirm order

If you switch to the Classic Template, does this now work? What this test does is help to determine if the issue is template related ...

Re: Customer can't confirm order

It is already set to the classic template, I am building the site from scratch, although as yet have only modified the main page, header & footer. (not including the mods installed as above)

Re: Customer can't confirm order

Should think before i finish things.

The code for the button appears as:

<form name="checkout_confirmation" action="" method="post" id="checkout_confirmation" onsubmit="submitonce();"><div class="buttonRow forward"><input class="cssButton button_confirm_order" onmouseover="this.className='cssButtonHover button_confirm_order button_confirm_orderHover'" onmouseout="this.className='cssButton button_confirm_order'" type="submit" value="Confirm Order" style="width: 84px;" /></div>
</form>

But should be appearing as:

<form name="checkout_confirmation" action="https://www.total-eminence.co.uk/index.php?main_page=checkout_process" method="post" id="checkout_confirmation" onsubmit="submitonce();"><div class="buttonRow forward"><input class="cssButton button_confirm_order" onmouseover="this.className='cssButtonHover button_confirm_order button_confirm_orderHover'" onmouseout="this.className='cssButton button_confirm_order'" type="submit" value="Confirm Order" style="width: 84px;" /></div>
</form>

Any ideas how to make this work?

Re: Customer can't confirm order

You are right, that is wrong ...

But, you are customizing the Classic Template and probably the core files and I am not sure what all you have touched ...

I would do a compare of your site against a clean v1.3.9d to see what files may have been overwritten by any of your add ons ...

NOTE: the idea of properly using the Templates and Overrides is to be able to switch to the Classic Template to try to rule out changes that you might have done ...

NOTE: you might try something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com to see what differences there are between the original files and your site ...

Re: Customer can't confirm order

Hello,

The problem was only detected having installed the mods above NOTHING else was edited.

I have looked at the checkout confirmation page and there is no difference between the original and the edit.

The problem appears to be that the $form_action_url command doesn't seem to be working correctly. However I don't know where this command draws its info from or how to follow its next steps. None of the modules I have added should have had any impact on the checkout confirmation. Could it be something to do with a payment module working incorrectly or a simple setting needing activating? This is the section of code in the "checkout_confirmation.php"which contains the $form_action_url

<?php
  echo zen_draw_form('checkout_confirmation', $form_action_url, 'post', 'id="checkout_confirmation" onsubmit="submitonce();"');

  if (is_array($payment_modules->modules)) {
    echo $payment_modules->process_button();
  }
?>

If someone could tell me where the $form_action_url obtains its code I will attempt to locate the source of the problem.

Re: Customer can't confirm order

Having spent some more time looking at this I have found that no payment method is being selected, which is why the form_action_url can't define which payment confirmation page it needs to go to.

I have checked the payment page but this is identical to the core file.

The only edits to core files on the catalogue side are on the following pages. I don't see how any of these might cause a problem. Please correct me if I am wrong.

includes/modules/pages/login/header.php
includes/modules/classic/meta_tags.php
includes/modules/classic/tpl_product_info_display.php
includes/templates/classic/templates/tpl_modules_Create_account.php
includes/templates/classic/templates/tpl_account_edit_default.php
includes/modules/create_account.php
includes/templates/classic/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php
includes/templates/classic/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

If not where should I be looking next? which files are most likely to be possibly corrupt (after all it only takes one file to have uploaded badly!!)

Thanks

What Shipping Module(s) do you currently have installed?

What Payment Module(s) do you currently have installed?

Do you have any installed and set to disabled? If so, click one them and click REMOVE ...

Do you use Sort Order on any of them? If you use a Sort Order on any of the installed module(s) you must use unique sort orders on all installed modules ...

Re: Customer can't confirm order

What Shipping Module(s) do you currently have installed?

Flat Rate, Per Item, Store PickUp

What Payment Module(s) do you currently have installed?

Cash on Delivery & Check/Money Order

Do you have any installed and set to disabled? If so, click one them and click REMOVE ...

Done

Do you use Sort Order on any of them? If you use a Sort Order on any of the installed module(s) you must use unique sort orders on all installed modules ...

I have now assigned them all unique sort orders but no luck.

I have attached a screenshot of the checkout_confirmation page. As you can see it has displayed the chosen Shipping Method but not the chosen Payment method.

Does this help at all?

Re: Customer can't confirm order

Well ... since an official fresh release of Zen Cart does not manifest the problems you describe, the next step is to identify which addon or combination of addons is contributing to those problems.

Re: Customer can't confirm order

Your Payment Method is not showing ... :eek:

This would indicate that one is not set properly so you cannot confirm the order ... the question is, why is it becoming lost ... :unsure:

What kind of Product is in the cart?

What Payment Modules do you see displayed on the checkout_payment

Which one are you selecting?

Re: Customer can't confirm order

Hello,

That sounds like whats going on here....

The product is a basic product type which I created for the purpose of testing the store for development.

On checkout payment I see both the Cash on delivery and cheque/money order options and I have selected both but neither work (both get the same result).

I have compared the checkout_payment.php file to the original core file and it is identical.

Re: Customer can't confirm order

If you look in the /cache directory, do you see any debug logs?

As a test, I would install a test of a Clean v1.3.9 in a new test directory with a test database and see if that is working for you ...

If that is working, I would then copy your current database content to the test database and see if that is working on the test site ...

This would help rule out a database issue with your current database data ...

Re: Customer can't confirm order

Also, have you verified that ALL the original files were actually uploaded to your server? ie: that none of them are missing or got uploaded as zero-bytes due to FTP upload problems?
