Need help. PAYPAL problem after upgrade to 1.3.9d

Thanks for the update.
We'll do some more regression testing and include this (and some others) in v1.3.9e.

Paypal is integrated into Zen Cart. Are you asking how you upgrade your Zen Cart to get the latest Paypal integration?

You posted this in a new thread with no history. Not even a link.
I don't know what "new update" you're referring to. Somehow you're assuming that I can read your mind and know exactly what you're thinking. Sorry, while I do possess many skills, that's not one of them.

You don't need that update unless you are experiencing the exact symptoms described earlier in this discussion.
It is NOT an official patch, and is NOT intended to be installed unless needed for the specific problem for which it was posted.
Official patches and new versions will be announced in the News & Announcements area of the forum.

Re: Need help. PAYPAL problem after upgrade to 1.3.9d

Yes I am sorry for posting in the wrong area, do not really know how to use the forum that correctly yet, and thank you for moving it to the correct place, I posted where I thought it would get some attention as no one seemed to be answering.

As I have just loaded a new cart and still setting it up ( 1.3.9d ) and the threads I have been studying all, seem to point to the fact that it seems to be all the later versions that are giving the same problem, I was just trying to safe guard myself should the problem appear and then I would have know what to do strait away. When starting a new shop and maybe getting your first customer, then having to phone them to say their order had gone through but you have no shipping addressfor them, and causing them an unfore seen delay would not go down well.

So if an update patch is required for the later vesions including Zen 1.3.9d lets hope that it appears very soon. Because there seems to me, that there are may people asking about this on the forum in one thread and onther.

Sorry if people do not agree with what I have done, and put in the above, but being new to all this you can only make comments as you see them, when reading these threads, because they start to worry you.

Re: Need help. PAYPAL problem after upgrade to 1.3.9d

Just upgraded a client to 1.3.9d and his store is using WPP and EC. When a customer pays with EC in PayPal it just shows, Item Total and the amount rather than the product's name.

We contacted PayPal and they said that the item name wasn't included in the post data.

This worked on 1.3.8a. Please advise.

Re: Need help. PAYPAL problem after upgrade to 1.3.9d

numinix, when we used 1.3.8a it only showed the "Total Amount" and "Item amount" for transactions in PayPal (Transaction Details). We are seeing no difference between 1.3.8a and 1.3.9d when viewing transactions in PayPal.

Also, this thread was created for a specific issue with IPNs, which has now been resolved.

Sorry, this problem is specifically with Express Checkout (this thread is in the EC forum, not the forum for IPN) and your thread title directly matched the issue. I'll start another thread.

Re: Need help. PAYPAL problem after upgrade to 1.3.9d

I too have this problem in that I received the same email as the original poster.

I upgraded to 1.3.9d a few weeks ago and got the first email yesterday. Whilst i was trying to fix this issue (as detailed in this thread) I've now received another email from paypal to say they have disabled my IPNs.

So....bearing in mind I've already uploaded the new Paypal Curl File in page 2 and checked that Website Payments Pro and Express Checkout settings are correct what does this mean?

Also why, when i don't use Paypal Standard payments is this IPN problem rearing its head now?

And lastly any ideas as how to fix it!?!

Many thanks in advance, Andrew

You simply need to put a valid URL into your PayPal IPN URL field as per instructions: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/PayPal
If PayPal continues to send you the emails, log a support ticket to find out what's specifically wrong: https://www.paypal.com/mts

Re: Need help. PAYPAL problem after upgrade to 1.3.9d

Hi

I am having the same message now from PayPal and it would seem from the IPN history file that for the last four days we have no been able to receive payments. I download the paypal_curl.php you put on this thread but the IPN Notification has still failed. Four days ago we updated to Pro 2.0 Payflow Edition UK, do you have a different file to cure this?

Best regards
Richard

Babystart , the Zen Cart Team will need to know what version of Zen Cart you are using. Did the problem start after upgrading to the latest version of Zen Cart, i.e, give as much background information as possible.

Re: Need help. PAYPAL problem after upgrade to 1.3.9d

Hi

Upgraded to version d some weeks ago. The problem seems to have only started 4 days ago. I have rechecked all settings in Zen and PayPal and they all seem to be right. The only difference in that time is that in Payments I switched on to Express Checkout Payflow-UK. Bye the way my first statement was incorrect, we are receiving the order and the payment, it is the Instant Payment Notification that is falling over and PayPal have alerted me to it.

best regards
Richard

Re: Need help. PAYPAL problem after upgrade to 1.3.9d

The file I posted earlier specifically addresses the problem of encoded URLs in the IPN notification parameter of EC/Pro transactions.
It does NOT fix any already-submitted transactions. You will have to ignore the ones submitted incorrectly.

Now, keep in mind that NONE of the discussion in this thread is reporting any problem of "we have not been receiving payment details if they pay by Creditcard". That has nothing whatsoever to do with IPN notification URLs. As such I'm very unclear about what exactly your specific problem really is.

Additionally, that fix, and more, is included in the now-released v1.3.9e.
