Confused and going round in circles!

I'm trying to upgrade my website https://www.maxpoly.co.uk/site2 from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9c and would really appreciate some help!

I followed the installer instructions by first removing the Paypal payment modules and shipping modules. I then ran through the steps to upgrade including ftp'ing the new files across. These went in a new directory https://www.maxpoly.co.uk/site2new and I then ran through the zc_install upgrade all ok.

Finally I modified the two configure.php files to make sure the database details were correct and that the files pointed to the /site2new directory rather than the old /site2 shop directory.

However.......if i point my browser to https://www.maxpoly.co.uk/site2 all I get is a blank screen.

Have I missed some step in the install or is there something more tricky to find going on?

I am getting "Down For Maintenance" instead of a blank page - seems like you got it fixed. What was the problem?

No not fixed - that's the existing v1.3.8a shop at https://www.maxpoly.co.uk/site2

The v1.3.9d upgrade went to https://www.maxpoly.co.uk/site2new and that's the page that is blank.

Any ideas why? Have I not completed the upgrade? I have a feeling that they need to be merged in some way but having spent all day yesterday on it I now can't see the wood for the trees :(

Also check the debug log that comes with 1.3.9 - it may give you some clues

I think it's fixed, the tutorial was spot on as the problem was several files in the includes/templates being 0 bytes. I went through and checked the files for that yesterday but with it being a long day I must have missed them.

I've traced that problem back to a router issue (port connectivity) with Filezilla so hopefully that won't happen again either.
