Subcategory page very different from category page.

This is an art supply site.

First page created was a category page for paints. 11 items. Looks great.

Next: Created a category page for brushes. There are two types of brushes, so I created a subcategory page for each.

The problem > The subcategory pages look nothing like the category pages.

For example. The category page hides the model number, and only shows the product name, description, image and price, along with a quantity entry box.

The subcategory page shows the model number and a different quantity box with with an add to cart button. It also displays "units in stock", and when the product was added plus "Write A Review". I want none of these extras.

This is a difficult problem to search for, so if its covered. I cannot find it.

What I would like is a nice simple page as in "Paints". Not the mess shown in "Brushes > Nylon Sable Blended Brushes"

The store is at captainwatercolor dot com/artsupplies

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Subcategory page very different from category page.

The reason is quite simple:

You have 11 paints so you get the listing first when you click on the category.

You only have one paint brush for one category, therefore the listing is skipped and you go straight to the product info page. Add another brush to this cat and you will get the listing.

The other brush cat has no products hence a different display.

Add more products to both sub cats and they will look the same as your paint cat
