Direct One payment module not passing stage 2

I have version 1.3.8a installed (clean) with the Direct One payment gateway (although this problem was happening on the Paypal built in module also).

When I get to "Payment method step 2", I put in a live credit card and press continue checkout, but the "Payment method step 2" screen just refreshes with no other information.

Please help - I am meant to be live.
