Price by attribute prices displaying weird after 1.37 to 1.39d

I just finished my upgrade from 1.37 to 1.39d. I thought everything was fine, so I went live and the attributed prices are displaying like this:

EbookATTRIBUTES_PRICE_DELIMITER_PREFIX$6.99ATTRIBUTES_PRICE_DELIMITER_SUFFIX

This is what the customer sees on the product page.
Can anyone tell me where these constants get their values and or what file I need to fix?

You appear to have missing language definitions ...

OK, I'll go look at that, but I don't know where those are. Can you point me in the right direction?

I would start by comparing all of your language files and your override files to the current files ...

If you have some missing then you probably have more than that missing ...

Check all subdirectories and files ...
