manual authentication of customer

i am looking into setting up a wholesale website. i want to make it so that customers need to be manually verified by myself before being able to purchase anything from my store (i'd also like to have prices hidden to guests, only visible to verified members).

is this possible or will i need to use an addon?

No Addon required.

I just set one up. Go to admin/configuration/customer details

Set the line (customer shop status - View Shop and Prices) to 2.

Set the (customer approval - Authorization Pending) to 2.
