QTY and Attributes

Hi All,

I have added check box attributes to my cart, however i have just realised that when i go to purchase something and select say three items if i leave the qty as just one which i did assuming it means 1 of each it only calculates the price for one item and so i have to change the qty number to the amount of items i select.

Now i am not a big online shopper and so this seems awkward and confusing to me as if i had just wanted one of each i would have selected the qty one. is this normal or do i have a problem somewhere, sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but i am pretty new to zencart.
