Announcements and streaming audio/video?

Hello!

I'd like to use Zen Cart for a record label, and it seems to handle all of our needs. However, there is one important feature I haven't been able to find:

We need to be able to post upcoming tour dates, special announcements and even some streaming video and audio files in the center column of our site.

Does Zen Cart have a sort of "announcements" newsfeed so that we can post news about our bands on the homepage?

I noticed that the default template shows an add for a Zen Cart Book and that would be the exact real estate where we'd want to post our announcements.

That content is in define_main_page.php, which can be edited from Admin - Tools - Define Page Editor (or you can edit it manually).

You can add pretty much any HTML content, including embedded video.

No, there's no automatic 'news' feed function. You'll have to edit the page in question. There is a built-in HTML editor in the Define Pages Editor, and a better one available as a mod.

OK, so it sounds like I'd better build a PHP loop in that page to post new announcements, videos, and streaming audio, or I need to use wordpress as my front in and incorporate Zen Cart (buy now) buttons and product info into Wrodpress.

Is there a way to feed product info (price, etc.) from Zen Cart into wrodpress? That is, can I make Zen Cart calls in my wordpress pages and have customers view product info and add items to their cart in wordpress?

OK, after reading some more online, I think I'm going to use Wordpress on Zencart to integrate the two. I want full zen-cart functionality throughout the site but I really need to have some updates, free music, concert dates, etc available on the homepage. Wordpress on Zencart is the only solution that seems to have all that.
