change url / url rewrite?

Hi guys,

Is there anyway to change for example > https://www.my-site-address.com/index.php?main_page=marketing to > https://www.my-site-address.com/marketing

From what I have read, long url's are not great for SEO, however that could just be a sales pitch from an SEO "Expert".

Does anyone know any different?

Moe

That would be my opinion, but there's a lot of discussion here about URL rewriting for SEO purposes. I'm in the 'don't bother' camp, but both sides are represented here:

Ok, this post can be scrapped, didnt realise there were various seo url mods in the addon section.

Thanks.

Moe.
